We had such a fun family night last night!
We started off taking Savannah to the Galleria Mall to see Santa. She didn't cry at all, which was what I was afraid she would do. She just sort of sat on his lap trying to figure him out. The more he talked to her the more unsure she started to feel. We couldn't get her to smile for the picture, but it still turned out really cute. And she didn't smile for Santa last year either :) She also got this cute paper hat from Santa and has been carrying it around ever since we left saying Ho, Ho, Ho. She also loved all of the Christmas decoration around Santa. They had dancing bears, trees, presents, and more. She Ooohhhed and Aaaaahhhhed over everything and was having so much fun.
After we left the mall we went over to Toys'R'Us and looked at some toys for Savannah for Christmas. Her faves seemed to be the bikes/ride-on toys, anything Thomas the Train, and the food/dishes for the toy kitchens. It look us like 40 minutes to try out all the bikes and ride-ons. Her fave seemed to be the Winnie the Pooh Orchestra piano ride-on. She just sat on the floor playing with it and making all the character dance. She also seemed to really like the Ariel talking kitchen, but was getting frustrated by the fact that everything was bolted down. And, as always, she loved the Thomas the Train play table. If I could figure out where to put it, I would get that for her for Christmas.
We did buy a few things at TRU while we were there. Savannah got a Winnie the Pooh Mega Blocks set, a Sesame Street puzzle, and huge Dora stuffed doll. Kevin got a huge Death Star replica. We also got Savannah a set of the little Star Wars guys by Fisher Price that she and Daddt played with last night.
After that, we headed over to Ethel M's Chocolate Factory to see the lights. Everyyear that take the plants in the botanical garden and cover them all with Christmas lights. Last night was the perfect night to go because it was so warm. Savannah ran around naming all the colors and looking at the light-up deer. My camera was acting a little funny with the lighting, but we took a bucnh of picture. Getting Savannah to sit still was hard, but I think the pictures will be really cute!
